CSIR-IHBT signed MoU with HYDROCROPS INDIA PVT. LTD., Jalandhar, Punjab for cultivation and production of Kutki and jatamansi in hydroponic system

‘CSIR-IHBT, Palampur signed an agreement with HYDROCROPS INDIA PVT LTD, Jalandhar (Punjab) on 17th March, 2021 to transfer the technology for cultivation and production of Kutki and Jatamansi plants under hydroponic system as per technical know-how of CSIR-IHBT. CSIR-IHBT and HYDROCROPS INDIA PVT LTD will also work together for co-development to produce Mucuna, Bacopa and some other mutually decided plants under hydroponic system.’

Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Director, CSIR-IHBT and Mr. Arun Naryaal, and Mr. Arvind Naryaal from HYDROCROPS INDIA PVT. LTD, along with Dr. Arun Chandan (Regional Director,RCFC-NR1, NMPB), and Scientists (Dr. Ashish R Warghat, and Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Dr. Sukhjinder Singh) and Sh. Yash Pal (Finance & Accounts Officer) from CSIR-IHBT were present during signing the agreement.

CSIR IHBT has its ownwell established in-house commercial-scale hydroponic facility. In which, they are cultivating medicinal, flower, and spice crops year-round using standardised media formulation and cultivation conditions.

HYDROCROPS INDIA PVT LTD is a private incorporated non-government entreprisewhich is involved in wholesale and manufacturing of a variety of goods.

As per the agreement, the technical and intellectual support along with consultancywill be provided for year round cultivation and production of Kutki and Jatamansi plantsand some other medicinal plants. The support will be provided during standardization of cultivation condition parameters in their location, along with quality assessment of produce. It will benefit the pharma industry by producing quality raw material.
