Gokul Butail lauded for spearheading successful Himachal Drone Conclave, Drone Technology Poised to Revolutionize Himachal Pradesh’s Future
In a remarkable display of technological prowess and innovation, the Himachal Drone Conclave was organized at CSKHPKV ((Agriculture University) Palampur, by FICCI in collaboration with Government of HP spanning from 4th to 5th July 2023, drawing widespread praise and attention.
It is worth mentioning here that The event exhibited the immense potential of drone technology in various sectors of Himachal Pradesh, with Mr. Gokul Butail, the young, dedicated, experienced and energetic cabinet minister (CHIEF Advis being lauded as the driving force behind the conclave’s resounding success.
Notably, on the first day, Sh Chander Kumar, the Hon’ble Agriculture Minister, graced the event as the chief guest, while on 5th July, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, conveyed his message virtually and appreciated the significance of the conclave.
Drone technology was extensively discussed, highlighting its role in enhancing surveillance and security across the state. In Himachal Pradesh’s rugged terrains, where accessibility is often a challenge, drones equipped with high-resolution cameras can monitor remote areas in real-time, supporting law enforcement agencies in ensuring public safety, curbing illegal activities, and safeguarding natural resources.
The conclave emphasized the critical role of drones in disaster management, given Himachal Pradesh’s vulnerability to natural calamities like landslides, floods, and earthquakes. Rapid response and situational analysis become possible through drones, aiding in damage assessment, identifying areas requiring immediate relief, and facilitating search and rescue operations. The integration of thermal imaging cameras in drones can aid in locating survivors during mass casualties.
The scope of drone technology also extends to infrastructure development and maintenance. With Himachal Pradesh boasting an extensive road network and numerous hydroelectric power projects, drones can conduct aerial surveys and generate accurate topographic data, streamlining project planning and design. Regular inspections of infrastructure assets through drones can ensure timely maintenance and reduce the need for manual inspections.
In the agriculture and forestry sectors, drones can revolutionize practices and yield positive outcomes. By monitoring crop health, detecting pest infestations, and optimizing irrigation processes, drones can contribute to improved agricultural productivity and minimized wastage. For the forestry sector, drones equipped with sensors and cameras can map forest cover, identify illegal logging activities, and track wildlife populations, supporting conservation efforts.
