Rotary Club Palampur Takes Green Initiative: Tree Plantation Drive Led by SDM Amit Guleria”

Palampur, 16th July 2023: Rotary Club Palampur, a renowned service organization, organized a grand tree plantation drive today at Major Sudhir Walia Park, near SDM Residence.

The event aimed to promote environmental conservation and create awareness about the importance of planting trees for a sustainable future.

The esteemed Chief Guest, SDM Palampur Amit Guleria, graced the occasion with his presence.

Alongside him, Rotary President Rishi Sangrai, Secretary Ajay Sood, and other distinguished members of the club were in attendance, including martyr Major Sudhir Walia’s brother Parveen Ahluwalia, and Dr. Sudhir Sahlotra, Director Rotary Eye Hospital Maranda. The past President, Vikas Vasudeva, also marked his presence, showcasing the club’s unity and commitment to community welfare.

Dhaliwal, Sam Abraham, Sr. Rtn Kapil Sood, Dr. Rajesh Sood, Rtn SP Awasthi, Rtn Sandeep Rana, and Rtn. Rajit Chitra.

The event commenced with a warm welcome by Rotary President Rishi Sangrai, followed by insightful speeches emphasizing the significance of tree plantation in combating climate change and maintaining ecological balance. SDM Amit Guleria expressed his appreciation for Rotary Club Palampur’s dedicated efforts in making a positive impact on the environment.

A variety of saplings, including neem, peepal, banyan, and fruit-bearing trees, were planted by the esteemed guests, Rotary Club members, and volunteers.

The tree plantation drive served as a platform to educate the local community on sustainable practices, encouraging them to actively participate in preserving the environment.

In his closing remarks, Rotary Secretary Ajay Sood thanked all the participants and urged everyone to nurture the planted saplings to ensure their healthy growth.
