For the first time in 45 years, the prestigious Agriculture University Palampur finds itself without a regular Vice Chancellor, causing significant disruptions in the institution’s functioning. The absence of a VC has led to overlooked developmental projects, administrative irregularities, and decisions being made without the legal authority of a regular VC.

Historically, the governor of the state had the authority to appoint the VC, but recent reforms passed by the Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu-led Congress government shifted this power to the Chief Minister’s office.
