Proud Moment: Rajiv Kumar Promoted to Prestigious IAS, Among Six Others in Himachal Pradesh
In a significant development, Rajiv Kumar, a seasoned member of the State Civil Service of Himachal Pradesh, has been promoted to the prestigious Indian Administrative Service (IAS). Alongside him, five other dedicated officers have also been elevated to the IAS cadre, marking a crucial step in their careers.
Rajiv Kumar, born on 15th January 1977, brings years of experience and expertise to his new role within the IAS. His promotion underscores the government’s commitment to recognizing and nurturing talent within the administrative framework of the country.
The appointments, made under the provisions of the Indian Administrative Service (Recruitment) Rules, 1954, come after a thorough selection process, in consultation with the State Government. The newly appointed officers will serve on probation until further orders, contributing their skills to the development and governance of Himachal Pradesh.
However, the appointments are contingent upon the outcomes of several court cases pending before the Hon’ble High Court of Himachal Pradesh. These cases include CWP No.6733/2010 (Amit Kashyap Vs. State of HP & others), No. 585/2012 (Jatinder Mohan Pathania Vs. State of HP & others), No. 8167/2013 (Rajesh Sharma Vs. State of HP & others), No. 8213/2013 (Mahender Pal Sood Vs. State of HP & others), No. 151/2014 (Vinod Kumar & others Vs. State of HP), and WP No. 1769/2020 (Naresh Thakur).
