On the occasion of his 87th birthday, Mr. Des Raj Banta, a veteran journalist and esteemed social worker, celebrated in grand style at his residence, Aashirwad near Chopati Shop. Renowned for his illustrious career spanning various national dailies such as The Patriot, Indian Express, Jansatta, Vir Pratap, Punjab Kesari, Himachal Reporter, and India Reporter Today, Mr. Banta’s life has been marked by dedication to journalism and social causes.
Continuing his tradition of philanthropy, Mr. Banta donated Rs. 10,000 to Shani Seva Sadan, underscoring his commitment to supporting charitable initiatives. Notably, Mr. Banta has been a staunch advocate for the rights of journalists in Himachal Pradesh, engaging in battles with the government to secure their rights and fair treatment.
