In a remarkable stride towards environmental sustainability, the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) has successfully executed a large-scale tree plantation drive across its units. This initiative, spearheaded by Managing Director Rajeev Kumar, IAS, and under the dynamic chairmanship of RS Bali, Cabinet Minister, has seen a significant greening effort during the rainy season, fulfilling the directive issued earlier this year.

MD Rajeev Kumar, IAS, told India Reporter Today that n May, hehad instructed all Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) and Unit Incharges to plant at least ten trees within their premises, taking advantage of the rainy season’s optimal planting conditions. The directive also emphasized the importance of selecting tree species suitable for the local climate and provided guidance for units lacking sufficient space to utilize adjoining areas.

The response to this initiative has been overwhelmingly positive. Units across the state have enthusiastically participated, resulting in extensive tree planting that not only enhances the beauty of the HPTDC premises but also contributes significantly to the environment. The documentation of the plantation process, shared via the eOffice platform, showcases the dedication and hard work put in by the teams.

Kumar’s visionary leadership and commitment to environmental stewardship, coupled with the energetic and forward-thinking guidance of RS Bali, have been instrumental in the success of this drive.
