Deputy Commissioner Kangra Hemraj Bairwa, IAS– A People’s Champion!

Around five years ago, ₹1.25 lakh was sanctioned from the DC fund to prevent land erosion around a temple in Maranda, now under the Palampur Municipal Corporation.

However, this amount got lost in bureaucratic red tape, and no one knew where it had gone. Some said it was with PWD, others claimed it was with the municipal corporation, while a few believed it was in the BDO offices of Bhawarna or Sulah.

For five long years, no official or employee took any concrete action. Instead, they kept passing the responsibility around, leading to endless delays.

However, when this matter came to the attention of the current Deputy Commissioner of Kangra, Shri Hemraj Bairwa, IAS he demonstrated his efficiency and prompt action.

 

Remarkably, he was informed about this issue via a phone call on a holiday. Despite it being a non-working day, he immediately took action and activated the concerned departments.

Thank God, as a result of his swift intervention, the funds were finally traced. The money had been lying dormant in the PD Bhawarna office for years due to bureaucratic negligence.

This incident highlights DC Hemraj Bairwa’s responsiveness, dedication, and unwavering commitment to public welfare.

The inefficiency and negligence of the Public Works Department (PWD) were exposed, as essential funds for critical work had remained unutilized for years.

Yet, no one had taken the initiative to resolve the issue. It was only when DC Hemraj Bairwa personally intervened that an official from the PWD Bhawarna office arrived at the site for verification.

The local people were overjoyed and highly praised the Deputy Commissioner for his remarkable efficiency.

This is just one instance of how Shri Hemraj Bairwa is a people-friendly DC, prioritizing public welfare projects that directly benefit the citizens.

As per people’s view, he is like a benevolent king from the olden days, always ensuring that the needs of the people are met on priority. For him, the best reward is the love and appreciation of the people. His selfless service and dedication are truly commendable.
