ABM School National Highway Bridge at Risk of Collapse due to Illegal Construction, Posing Grave Danger to Surrounding Properties and Army Traffic Link

In a shocking turn of events, the ABM School National Highway Bridge is on the verge of collapse if the illegal construction activities continue at their current rapid pace. The bridge, which serves as a crucial link between Pathankot and Mandi, is now facing an imminent threat due to unauthorized construction work taking place beneath it.

The situation has escalated to a point where the illegal digging of soil after leveling the land has resulted in the blockage of a nearby nallah, obstructing the natural flow of water. Consequently, water has accumulated beneath the bridge, causing severe weakening of its foundation. Reports indicate that the bridge’s structural integrity is compromised at multiple points, both on its sides and beneath it.

Properties worth crores of rupees, along with invaluable infrastructure, are now at risk due to this perilous situation. If swift action is not taken, the bridge’s collapse could not only lead to significant financial losses but also disrupt the vital link between Pathankot and Mandi, affecting crucial army traffic as well.

Despite the urgency of the situation, the illegal construction activities are taking place under the apparent negligence of the Municipal Corporation of Palampur.
