The condition of the Valley Bridge in Bhuntar, Kullu district, has become delicate due to the havoc caused by the monsoon.
On Sunday, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sundar Singh Thakur, along with officials from the Public Works Department, inspected the bridge. During the inspection, officials familiarized themselves with the condition of the bridge and examined its current state. It was found that the bridge has become even more fragile, and it is unsafe to drive vehicles on it. A section of the bridge is continuously crumbling and could collapse under pressure at any time. Following the inspection, the bridge has been closed to all vehicular traffic. The police administration has imposed restrictions on the movement of vehicles from both sides and advised people to exercise caution while passing through. On this occasion, officials from the Public Works Department, including S.K. Dheeman, the chief engineer, and J.L. Thakur, the mechanical engineer from the banking sector, were also present.
