DAV Public School Palampur Hosts Inter-School Science Exhibition to Commemorate 47th Birth Anniversary of Kargil War Hero Captain Saurabh Kalia: Celebrating Scientific Excellence

DAV Public School Palampur, in association with various schools from the Kangra and Hamirpur regions, organized an inter-school science exhibition competition today, marking the 47th birth anniversary of Kargil War Hero, Captain Saurabh Kalia.

The event showcased the scientific talents of students and fostered a spirit of innovation and inquiry.

The competition, held at DAV Public School Palampur, witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 60 students, forming 26 groups representing several renowned schools. Among the participating schools were D.A.V. Public School – Bharauli Nadaun, D.A.V. Public School Gauju, D.A.V. Public School Bagni Noorpur, Mother’s Touch School Palampur, D.A.V. Public School Hamirpur, Kangoo Mount Carmel School Baijnath, Jai Public School Raihan, D.A.V. Public School Banuri, D.A.V. Public School Palampur, Kendriya Vidyalaya Palampur, Viveka Foundation School Bhavarna, D.A.V. Public School Dehra Gopipur, Modern Public School Siddhbari, Rainbow Burled School Bhawarna, D.A.V. Public School Narwana Yol, D.A.V. Public School Alampur, D.A.V. Public School Dharamsala, Anuradha Public School Maranda, A.M. Dhauladhar Public School Yol Cantt, Newgal Vindravan, A.B.M. Public School Thakurdwara, D.A.V. Public School Tiara, G.A.V. Public School Kangra, Holy Faye School Pathyar, and Spring Dale Convent School Jawali.

FIRST POSITION HOLDER

The distinguished event was inaugurated by the esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Ashutosh Sharma Guleri, Administrator and Chief Medical Officer at the Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy, Kayakalp, Vivekananda Trust, Palampur. Joining as special guests were Mr. Sukhdev Bhardwaj, Chairman of Ajanta Chemical Industries India, and Dr. N.D. Sharma, Director of K.L.B. College. The panel of judges included Dr. Aparna, Dr. Vipin Hallan, and Dr. SK Vats.

Mr. V.K. Yadav, Principal of DAV Public School Palampur, extended a warm welcome to the esteemed guests, emphasizing the significance of the occasion and the collective effort in honoring the memory of Captain Saurabh Kalia. The presence of the martyr’s parents, Mrs. and Mr. (Dr.) N. K. Kalia, and his brother Vaibhav Kalia, added a deeply personal touch to the event.

Additionally, the principals of D.A.V. Public Schools Hamirpur and Nadaun Bharauli, Mr. Vishwas Sharma and Mr. Surjeet Kumar, respectively, graced the occasion as guests of honour.

The inter-school science exhibition showcased the innovative and analytical skills of the participating students.

After careful evaluation by the esteemed jury, the winners were announced. T.R. D.A.V.C.S. Kangoo emerged as the champions, with students Lakshita Thakur and Rishita Sharma demonstrating exceptional scientific prowess.

2nd Position Holder

Securing the second position jointly were Arnav Kumar and Shorya Rana from D.A.V. Public School Palampur and  Arsh Awasthi and Anshav Parmar from A.B.M. School Thakurdwara.

Notably, Anshika and Gaurika from Mount Carmel School, Baijnath got third position and were also recognized for their outstanding performance.

During his address, Chief Guest Dr. Ashutosh Sharma Guleri highlighted the extraordinary life and sacrifices of Amar Shaheed Saurabh Kalia.

He commended the participants for their scientific approach, creativity, and dedication, urging them to continue their pursuit of excellence in the field of science.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Vaibhav Kalia, the brother of Captain Saurabh Kalia.

He expressed deep gratitude to all the attendees, participants, guests, and organizers for making the inter-school science exhibition a memorable and befitting tribute to his brother’s enduring legacy.
