On the auspicious occasion of the 47th birth anniversary of Kargil War Hero Amar Shaheed Captain Saurabh Kalia, D.A.V. Public School, Palampur, under the visionary leadership of Dr. V.K. Yadav, organized an Inter-School Science Exhibition Competition on June 29, 2024. Dr. Yadav, the dynamic principal of D.A.V. Public School, has dedicated his entire life to the upliftment of the D.A.V. institution and its students, many of whom have soared to great heights under his guidance.

The Inter-School Science Exhibition Competition was a testament to Dr. Yadav’s relentless efforts to foster scientific curiosity and innovation among students. The event saw participation from 50 students representing 23 schools from the Kangra and Hamirpur regions, including D.A.V. Public School-Rahan, A.B.M. Schools-Thakurdwara, Scholars International School Ghurakkadi, and many others.
The competition was inaugurated by the chief guest, Dr. Sudesh Kumar Yadav, Director of the Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology, Palampur. Special guest Shri Sukhdev Bhardwaj, Chairman of Ajanta Chemical Industries India, graced the occasion and generously presented a copy of Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta to all participants. Esteemed judges, Dr. Aparna, Dr. Vipin Halan, and Dr. S.K. Vats, evaluated the innovative projects on display.
The competition concluded with D.A.V. Public School clinching the first place, thanks to the exceptional projects by Vansh Chandel and Achyut Ranaut. The second place was awarded to Arsh Awasthi and Anshav Parmar from A.B.M. Schools-Thakurdwara, while the third place went to Naveen Kumar and Divyansh from Scholars International School, Ghurakkadi.
The event was graced by the presence of Martyr C. Saurabh Kalia’s respected parents, Mrs. and Mr. (Dr.) N.K. Kalia, and his brother Vaibhav Kalia. The chief guest, in his address, highlighted the heroic deeds of Saurabh Kalia and commended the students for their scientific endeavors.
Dr. V.K. Yadav’s heartfelt welcome to the guests and participants was a reflection of his warm and inclusive leadership style.
