Jaisinghpur, Distt. Kangra (H.P.) – August 23, 2023
In light of the escalating weather conditions and the potential risks posed by the forecasted heavy rainfall, the Office of the Sub Divisional Magistrate in Jaisinghpur, Himachal Pradesh, has taken precautionary measures to ensure the safety of the community. In a recent announcement, the Sub Divisional Magistrate’s office has issued an order for the closure of various educational institutions in the area on August 24, 2023.
The region has been grappling with continuous rainfall over the past few days, leading to a substantial rise in the water levels of rivers and runnels. Additionally, the persistent rain has triggered landslides in multiple locations, causing disruptions to vehicular movement and raising concerns about public safety.
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning about the likelihood of very heavy rainfall on August 24, 2023, which could further exacerbate the situation by triggering more landslides and flash floods. This presents a potential risk to human lives, and local authorities are taking proactive steps to mitigate these dangers.
In line with the guidelines provided in the letter dated July 16, 2023, from the Director of Higher Education Himachal Pradesh, and in accordance with the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the Sub Divisional Magistrate’s office has ordered the closure of all Anganwari Centers, Schools, Educational Institutions, Government and Private Colleges, Polytechnic College, and ITI (Industrial Training Institute) in the Sub Division Jaisinghpur on August 24, 2023.
The safety of students, teachers, staff, and all members of the community is of paramount importance during such weather events. The heads of the institutions have been instructed to strictly adhere to this directive in order to uphold public safety.
This proactive measure demonstrates the commitment of local authorities to prioritize the well-being of the community in the face of challenging weather conditions. By temporarily closing educational institutions, the Sub Divisional Magistrate’s office aims to mitigate potential risks and ensure the safety and security of all residents in Jaisinghpur and its surroundings.
