In a startling revelation, it has come to light that Dr. H.K. Chaudhary, the Vice Chancellor of Choudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya Palampur, is accused of engaging in forgery during the appointment process of assistant scientists in the year 2020. The allegations suggest a disturbing pattern of favoritism and disregard for qualifications.

Controversial Appointments Mar Selection Integrity

One instance that has raised eyebrows involves the selection of a candidate for the position of Assistant Scientist in Genetics & Plant Breeding. Shockingly, a candidate with a background in seed science was chosen, despite the essential requirement being a Ph.D. in Genetics & Plant Breeding. This departure from established qualifications raises concerns about transparency and fairness, especially given that other candidates with the correct credentials were overlooked.

Political Influence and Deprivation of Deserving Candidates

The alleged misuse of the selection process extends to cases where candidates were appointed to positions that did not align with their field of expertise. In a similar incident, a candidate from Biotechnology was selected for the Agricultural Biotechnology position, sidelining candidates who were better suited for the role. Moreover, a candidate’s immediate deputation to a State Department upon joining the university on the same day has raised suspicions of political maneuvering to please a prominent BJP leader.

These allegations of forgery and irregularities not only cast a shadow over the reputation of the university but also undermine the trust and confidence of students, staff, and the academic community.

As the investigations unfold, it remains imperative to address these grave allegations and restore the integrity of the appointment process to ensure a fair and transparent academic environment for all stakeholders involved.

Ghar ki kheti, Ghar ka Raaj, Apni Sarkar, Apna Raaj” means alleged nepotism and favoritism in the appointment process, suggesting that certain appointments were made to appease political figures or individuals with influence, without necessarily adhering to established qualifications. The phrase conveys the perception that such decisions were made based on personal or political considerations rather than merit, and that those involved may have motivations that are not immediately apparent to outsiders.
