K.C. Sood, a retired class one officer from the AG office in Shimla, tragically left for heavenly abode yesterday at 1.30 pm after suffering a massive heart attack. He was 76.
The news has sent shock waves through the community, as Mr. Sood was a well-respected figure in the region.
He was a resident of Ghuggar Tanda Ram Chowk in Palampur and held the esteemed position of elder son-in-law of the Goel family (Goel Book Depot)
Mr. Sood’s wife, Pushpa Sood, also a retired physical training teacher, is left grieving by his sudden departure.
The couple shared a deep bond and were active members of the community.
Their younger son, Sachin, has followed in his father’s footsteps and is a veterinary doctor, while his wife has dedicated her career to practicing as an Ayurvedic doctor.
In addition to Sachin, the Sood family comprises their elder son, Satyam Sood, and his wife Jagriti Sood at Shimla.
Both Satyam and Jagriti hold high-ranking positions in the private sector, which has added to the family’s prominence in the region.
K.C. Sood’s contributions to the AG office in Shimla were widely acknowledged during his tenure.
He served with utmost dedication, leaving a lasting impact on his colleagues and the institution.
His retirement marked the end of an era, as he was known for his professionalism, integrity, and commitment to public service.
The news of Mr. Sood’s sudden passing has brought an outpouring of condolences from friends, family, and the wider community including Former cabinet minister Mr. BBL Butail, Cabinet Minister Mr. Gokul Butail and CPS Mr. Ashish Butail.
Many have expressed their deep sorrow over the loss of such a respected individual.
The funeral rites for K.C. Sood will be conducted today at a local cremation ground in Palampur at about 10.15 am near new bus stand here.
The community is expected to come together to pay their final respects to the departed soul.
