In a heart warming display of compassion and community service, Principal Vineet Sharma, his wife Anshu Sharma, the Physical Training Instructor (PTI) of NKSD Chand Public Senior Secondary School in Ghuggar Palampur, along with the school’s students and staff, took an initiative to feed stray cows and the cows of Gau Sadan in Palampur.

The noble endeavor, titled “Gaae Ko Grass,” meaning “feed or chapati to cow,” was carried out under the guidance of Parvinder Bhatia, Chief of Shani Seva Sadan organization in Palampur.

Motivated by the ideals of Late Dr. Shiv Kumar, a renowned social server, and Late Dr. Nand Kumar Sharma, an esteemed educationist and founder of Chand Public School, the initiative aimed to instill a sense of social responsibility and care for animals among the participants.

Over 1,000 chapatis were prepared by the students themselves at their homes to feed the roadside standing stray cows and the cows residing in Go Sadan.

Anshu Sharma, the PTI of the school, expressed his appreciation for the initiative, stating, “This endeavor signifies our commitment to fostering empathy and kindness towards animals. We believe that by engaging in such acts of compassion, we can contribute to creating a more compassionate society.”

The event not only served as an opportunity for the students to actively participate in community service but also highlighted the importance of caring for stray animals.

The act of feeding the cows not only ensured their well-being but also symbolized the shared responsibility of the community towards animal welfare.

The Principal, Vineet Sharma, commended the efforts of the students and staff, recognizing their dedication and commitment to the cause.

He stated, “We are immensely proud of our students and staff who have wholeheartedly contributed to this initiative. It is through such endeavors that we can cultivate a sense of compassion and service among the younger generation.”

The collaboration with Shani Seva Sadan organization, led by Parvinder Bhatia, added further momentum to the initiative.

The organization has been actively involved in various community welfare projects, including animal care, and their guidance ensured the success of the “Gaae Ko Grass” initiative, for the last 20 years.
