The upcoming World Youth Festival is poised to take place in the city of Sochi, Russia. Robin Kumar, a former World Youth Festival participant, has been entrusted with the critical responsibility of preparing the Indian delegation for the 2024 festival.
In a remarkable instance where individuals from smaller towns are given the opportunity to participate in events organized by larger cities, Robin Kumar, a proud son of Mrs. Sunita Kumari and Mr. Janak Raj of 53 Miles, Kangra, has not only represented India at the International Volunteer Forum 2019 but has also been entrusted with the crucial responsibility of organizing India’s delegation for the upcoming 2024 festival in Russia.
Robin Kumar, a member of the Indian committee for the World Youth Festival 2024 in Russia, previously represented India as part of the national delegation during the International Volunteer Forum 2019 held in Sochi, Russia, organized by the Indian government’s Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Scheduled from March 1 to March 7, 2024, in Sochi, the event will witness the participation of over 10,000 youths aged 18 to 35 from 180 countries globally, including nearly 10,000 youths from Russia. Robin Kumar mentioned that India, being home to the world’s largest youth population, will contribute around 400 participants selected through an application process.
The primary objective of this global event is to bring together youths on a platform to collaborate on various topics, including business, cultural exchange programs, and the role of youth in politics. This responsibility of sending a strong delegation from India to this global event has been given to Mr. Robin Kumar, a prominent figure from the Kangra district, actively involved in public service in Dharamshala.
The program will involve initiatives in colleges and universities nationwide to identify and provide opportunities for talented individuals to represent India on this global platform. The event has been categorized into two parts: one fully funded and the other partially funded by the Russian government, aimed at accommodating participants from various economic backgrounds.
Robin Kumar emphasized this as a golden opportunity for India’s youth to participate by filling out online forms and proudly representing India at this global event.
