Dharamshala Rotary Club Organizes Yoga Camp and Social Projects on International Yoga Day

On the occasion of International Yoga Day, the Dharamshala Rotary Club in collaboration with the Sr. Sec. School Serathana, organized a remarkable Yog camp.
The event aimed to promote the numerous health benefits of yoga and create awareness about its practice among the community members. The camp witnessed the participation of a large number of individuals, eager to embrace the holistic and rejuvenating aspects of this ancient discipline.
Leading the yoga class was the esteemed Mrs. Kamlesh Awasthi, a retired principal who has dedicated her life to promoting the practice of yoga. Her expertise and guidance ensured that participants were able to experience the true essence of yoga and its transformative impact on the mind, body, and soul.
Following the invigorating yoga session, the Rotary Club also organized an eye screening camp within the school premises. Dr. Aditi Prashar, a renowned retina specialist, took charge of examining the eyes of approximately 210 patients who attended the camp. This initiative was aimed at identifying potential eye health issues and providing timely medical intervention to those in need.
President Rotarian Ajay Sharma expressed his gratitude to all the individuals involved in the event, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in fostering a healthy and compassionate society. The Rotary Club took the noble step of offering free medicines and spectacles to the patients, further highlighting their commitment to improving the lives of those in their community.
In recognition of their outstanding services rendered during the camp, the school principal, Dr. Sandeep, the dedicated team of doctors, and the students of NCC (National Cadet Corps) and NSS (National Service Scheme) were honored by the Rotary Club. This gesture aimed to acknowledge their selfless contributions and inspire others to actively participate in community service.
In another commendable project, the Dharamshala Rotary Club distributed 22 pairs of school shoes and 20 dustbins to the students of a local school. This initiative, executed under the guidance of Principal Bhanu Katoch, aimed to provide essential items to students, promoting their overall well-being and hygiene. Rotarian Vijay Sharma, VS Parmar, YP Sabharwal, Tej Singh, Hari Singh, Sangram Guleria, and Sansar Soni were present during the project, demonstrating their commitment to making a positive impact within their community.
The Rotary Club was also delighted to have the participation of the Gunjan Organisation in the Yoga camp. Their involvement further enriched the event, contributing to the spirit of unity and collaboration among various organizations working towards a common goal.
