Rotary club of Dhauladhar Palampur observes world stroke day on 29.10.21.
While briefing the media on this occasion president of club Dr. Munish Kumar Saroch said that world stroke day on October 29th seeks to emphasise the serious nature and high rates of stroke.
The day is also observed to raise awareness of prevention and treatment of strokes. According to previous statistics one in 6 people were expected to have stroke during their life time .
15 million people around the world have stroke every year. It is also leading cause of disability. A stroke may cause paralysis, sensory disturbances, aphasia and emotional disturbances.
It is 2nd leading cause of death and disability in the world and now incidence has increased from one in six to one in four.
