Surprise Joint Raids Unearth Weight Discrepancies in Gas Agencies

In an unexpected turn of events on August 8, 2023, a joint operation between SV&ACB PS Dharamshala and the Department of Legal Metrology led to surprise raids in Palampur and Indoura sub-divisions. The aim of these raids was to inspect gas agencies for compliance with weight regulations. A total of four gas agencies were subjected to scrutiny, with two agencies inspected in each sub-division.
Weight Discrepancies Found in Gas Cylinders During Surprise Checks
During the meticulous inspections carried out as part of the raids, a disconcerting revelation came to light. A total of eight gas cylinders, distributed evenly between the Palampur and Indoura sub-divisions, were discovered to have significant variations in their actual weights. These weight disparities ranged from 1.5 kilograms to a startling 4 kilograms.
Legal Metrology Department Takes Action in Response to Weight Anomalies
As a direct consequence of the findings, the Department of Legal Metrology swiftly seized all the materials in question. Furthermore, a faulty weighing machine, presumably responsible for contributing to the weight discrepancies, was also confiscated during the operation. In light of these grave irregularities, legal action is being pursued by the relevant authorities to ensure accountability and adherence to regulations.
