‘TAGDA RAHO’ – 13TH ANNUAL SPORTS FESTIVAL, VIVEKA FOUNDATIONS SCHOOL
A magnificent sports extravaganza was organised at Viveka Foundations School, Palampur as the events unfolded at the 13th Annual Sports Festival ‘Tagda Raho – Stay Strong’. A range of activities were planned throughout the seventeen day event which started on 1st November 2022 to 16th November 2022. The zeal and spirit of the entire staff filled the environment with excitement and it was indeed a welcome event after the two year long COVID-19 lockdown. Some of the highlights of the events were the umbrella race, sack race, 100 mtr, 200 mtr, 400 mtr, relay races along with field events like the long jump, javelin throw and shot-put.
The chief guest for the event was Air Commodore Deepak Sood (Retd.) who declared the event open with the lighting of a torch. The procession of march past by the four distinctive houses; NCC Unit and slow march past by the play way section of Viveka Foundations led the activities underway. Young Vivekians displayed a wide array of energetic and bouncy sports ranging from ball PT to lazium and from skating to a magnificent show of Karate. A display of ‘Yog’ by the children was the highlight of the day. A fun filled round of grandparents’ activities was organised which saw full participation from all our oldies. The ‘Award Ceremony for Sports’ was the most awaited moment for the students.
The Best Player in Badminton was bagged by Master Shikhar Singh Bogal with the Best Player of Chess going to Master Keshav Sood of class 8th. The Best Basketball Player was Rajat Jamwal with the overall Best Athelete going to Himanshu Chauhan of class 11th.
The ‘Best House in Sports’ trophy was bagged by Aryabhatt House and ‘Col. Robertson Trophy’ for the best marching contingent was awarded to Major Somnath Sharma House. The event marked its end with the closing ceremony in which the school flag was handed over to the School Principal Dr Mousami Thapa by the Founder & Director Mrs Kusum Rana.
