National Science Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Viveka Foundations School, Mansimbal, to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect by Sir C.V. Raman. The event aimed to inspire young minds and foster a spirit of scientific inquiry among students.

Highlights of the Day

The day was marked by various experiments, speeches, and performances that showcased the scientific temperament of students across different classes.

1. Experiments Conducted by Students

Class 2-3: Students performed the Rocket Balloon Experiment, demonstrating Newton’s Third Law of Motion in a fun and engaging way.

Class 4-5: The Walking Water Experiment showcased the concept of capillary action and how water moves through paper towels.

Class 6-7: The Siphon Experiment explained how liquid moves from one container to another without the need for external force.

Class 8: Students demonstrated Newton’s First Law of Motion, also known as the Law of Inertia, through practical experiments.

Class 12: Conducted an Experiment on Refraction, demonstrating how light bends when it passes through different mediums.

2. Speech on National Science Day

A well-researched speech was delivered by Shanvi of Class 7, emphasizing the significance of science in daily life and the contributions of Indian scientists to the global scientific community.

3. PPT Presentation on Isaac Newton and Laws of Motion

After the speech, Ansh presented a PowerPoint on Isaac Newton and the Laws of Motion, explaining Newton’s discoveries and their impact on modern physics. The presentation was well-structured, informative, and interactive, making it easier for students to grasp complex scientific principles.

4. Role Play by Students as Scientists

Students dressed up and acted as famous scientists such as Albert Einstein, Marie Curie, C.V. Raman, and Isaac Newton, narrating their discoveries and contributions.

5. Play on Newton’s Third Law of Motion

A short but engaging drama was performed by students, illustrating “For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction” through real-life scenarios and creative storytelling.

6. Educational Video Presentation

The event concluded with a video on the Laws of Motion by Dr. Sai Jai Jagan Mohan (HOD Maths and science), providing deeper insights into physics concepts with practical demonstrations.

Conclusion

The National Science Day celebration at Viveka Foundations School was a grand success, fostering curiosity and a love for science among students. The experiments and activities not only made learning fun but also encouraged students to explore scientific concepts beyond textbooks. The inclusion of the PPT presentation on Newton’s Laws of Motion by Ansh added an interactive element to the event, further enriching students’ understanding of fundamental physics concepts. The event truly reflected the spirit of innovation and inquiry, making it a memorable experience for all participants.
